0.5litre Familia Wiss Jar

The primary purpose of the Familia Wiss jar is for bottling preserves – but is widely used for storage as well. The Familia Wiss jar uses a two-part closure system – a Sealing Cap and a Screw Lid. In the context of preserving the Sealing Cap and is placed on the top of the jar. The Screw Lid is screwed on to the jar to hold the Sealing Cap in place during hermetic sealing process. If using the jars for storing dry goods only the Screw lid is used. Hand wash only. The jar comes with a single 100mm Sealing Cap and Screw Lid. The Screw Lid is made of tin. The tempered glass is suitable for use in a water bather or pressure canner (i.e. the vessels for sterilising low acid foods and hermetically sealing the jar) and hot-packing. Extra Sealing Caps (Pack of 12) and Screw Lids (Pack of 6) can be purchased.
